Walk-In Cooler & Freezer Trailers
Need to keep product cold — or hard-frozen — on site? Our walk-in cooler and freezer trailers give Grand Rapids operators dependable temperature-controlled space for restaurants, caterers, grocers, packing houses, clinics and event venues. Every unit holds anywhere from 0°F to 50°F, reaches setpoint in about an hour, and runs on standard building power — so setup works wherever you park it, outdoor patios and downtown loading docks included.
Walk-In Cooler Mode (34°F to 40°F)
Our most-requested setup for West Michigan businesses and events. Holds produce, dairy, beverages, floral and prepped catering. During ArtPrize, food festivals and harvest crunch, a cooler trailer adds instant chilled capacity without disrupting the venue. Cold-holding for prepared food needs to stay at or below 41°F, which this range covers with margin.
Walk-In Freezer Mode (down to 0°F)
Built for hard-frozen inventory — ice cream, frozen desserts, proteins and prepped meals. A reliable choice for grocers, ghost kitchens, food producers and emergency backup when an in-house freezer goes down.
Specs & Benefits
- 0°F to 50°F — one setpoint per trailer, set before it leaves the yard
- Reaches setpoint in about an hour — arrives ready to load
- Dedicated 15A, 110–125V circuit — standard three-prong plug, 25' cord included, no generator required
- Kingtec and Govi refrigeration running on electric standby — no engine noise near an outdoor patio or venue entrance
- Step-in floor at ground height — roll carts and hand trucks straight through, no ramp or forklift
- Fits Grand Rapids alleys, lots and loading docks in one piece
- Interior shelving and floor cleaned and temperature-verified before every delivery
- Lockable door for overnight security at festivals and job sites

Who Rents Cold Storage in Grand Rapids
Six situations we handle nearly every week across Kent County and West Michigan.
🏪 Restaurant & Kitchen Backup
A broken walk-in can shut a kitchen down in a shift. Our trailers give restaurants downtown, along 28th Street, in East Grand Rapids and out through Grandville dependable temporary storage for ingredients and prepped food while repairs are completed.
🚚 Food Distribution & Wholesale
West Michigan moves a lot of food. Distributors, wholesalers and food manufacturers use our trailers for overflow during peak weeks, to stage product ahead of a big delivery run, and to cover a cooler that is out of service without losing a load.
🍎 Growers, Packers & Farm Markets
West Michigan's fruit belt runs hard from cherries through apples. Orchards, blueberry growers, packing houses and farm markets use trailers for field-side cooling and overflow when the crop comes in faster than the cooler can hold it.
🏗️ Remodels & Cooler Replacement
Grocery refreshes, kitchen buildouts and walk-in replacements need somewhere for product to live for three to six weeks. A 30-day trailer is usually cheaper than discarding inventory or renting warehouse space across town.
🎪 Festivals, ArtPrize & Events
Downtown activations, food festivals, weddings and venue overflow. We deliver on your event schedule including overnight and early-morning drops, position the unit, and retrieve it when the event wraps.
🏥 Medical & Laboratory
Clinics, pharmacies, hospitals and research labs — including along the Medical Mile — use mobile refrigeration to protect vaccines, samples and medication during equipment failures, facility work and planned shutdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can you get a refrigerated trailer to Grand Rapids?
If you call before mid-afternoon and a unit is open, we can usually be on site the same day across Kent County. Standard bookings are typically scheduled for the next business day. Event weekends, ArtPrize and harvest season are our busiest windows, so book early when you can. Call 586-496-4883 to check what is open right now.
Can I rent a trailer during a power outage?
Storm outages are one of the most common reasons West Michigan businesses call us. If your building has power and your walk-in does not, a trailer plugs into a working circuit and holds your product. If the whole block is dark, we will talk through generator options honestly rather than sell you a unit that cannot run.
What does a refrigerated trailer rental cost in Grand Rapids?
A small trailer starts at $599 for three days, $899 for seven days and $2,900 for thirty. A medium trailer starts at $729, $1,100 and $3,500 for the same terms. Delivery and pickup are quoted by distance to your address, a deposit is required, and the minimum rental is three days. Call 586-496-4883 for an exact quote.
How cold do the trailers get?
Every unit holds anywhere from 0°F to 50°F and is set to your temperature before it leaves our yard. Cooler mode holds roughly 34°F to 40°F for produce, dairy, drinks and prepped dishes — comfortably below the 41°F cold-holding requirement. Freezer mode pulls down to 0°F for frozen product. One trailer holds one setpoint, so if you need chilled and frozen separately we can deliver two units.
What are the power requirements?
Our trailers need a dedicated 15A, 110–125V circuit and plug into a standard three-prong outlet. A 25' cord is included and no generator is required. Dedicated is the important word — a refrigeration compressor draws a brief surge when it starts, so sharing the circuit with a fryer, coffee line or POS gear will trip the breaker. If you are unsure about the outlet at your site, describe it on the phone and we will confirm before we roll.
Do you work with food distributors and wholesalers?
Yes. West Michigan moves a lot of food, and distributors use our trailers for overflow during peak weeks, to stage product ahead of a large delivery run, and to cover a cooler that is out of service without losing a load. Monthly terms usually make the most sense for recurring capacity needs.
Can you handle ArtPrize and other downtown events?
Absolutely. We deliver, position and retrieve on your event schedule — including overnight and early-morning drops so the trailer is ready before doors open. Downtown access can be tight, so share your venue and the approach and we will confirm clearance before your delivery date. If the venue requires a certificate of insurance or placement approval, tell us early.
Do you serve orchards, farms and packing houses?
Yes. West Michigan's fruit belt is a regular route for us. Growers use trailers for field-side cooling during cherry, blueberry and apple harvest, packing houses use them when the crop arrives faster than the cooler can hold it, and farm markets use them through the fall rush. Monthly terms usually make the most sense for a full harvest window.
How long does it take to get cold once it's delivered?
About an hour to reach setpoint from ambient, and we set the temperature before the unit leaves our yard so it arrives ready. Loading warm product extends that, because the unit has to remove that heat as well.
Which West Michigan towns do you cover?
We deliver across Grand Rapids and Kent County, including Wyoming, Kentwood, Walker, Grandville, Rockford, Comstock Park, East Grand Rapids, Cascade, Ada, Byron Center, Hudsonville, Jenison, Caledonia, Lowell and Sparta, and reach out toward Zeeland, Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon. Call 586-496-4883 and we will confirm scheduling for your address.
What if my project runs longer than I booked?
Just let us know before your scheduled pickup and we will extend it if the unit is not already promised to someone else. Extensions are common on construction jobs, harvest runs and kitchen buildouts, and the added days are billed at your existing rate tier.
